Streptococcus mutans  colonization influences the composite resins function and esthetic, impairing the  teeth structure. New materials in restorative dentistry have been studied to improve the surface characteristics and to reduce the microbial colonization. Among the composite resins used in the present study, GrandioSO (VOCO), Venus Diamond (VD) and Clearfil Majesty (ES-2), VOCO showed remarkable antibacterial and antibiofilm effects against S. mutans with a strong reduction in biofilm growth in terms of CFU count, biofilm biomass, metabolic activity, and polysaccharide production. Therefore, VOCO can be considered as more promising restorative material.
