Eco-friendly antimicrobial Strategies to fight Chronic-wound Infections Associated with Multidrug-resistant pathogens for the development of Innovative medical systems
WELCOME
Dear Friends and Colleagues, it is with great pleasure that we announce the upcoming SCIAMI International Workshop, to be held in the Chieti, Italian city where art, culture and science melt together to create a remarkable atmosphere, on 07th – 08th June 2024. The SCIAMI is a two-day event dedicated to Chronic Wound Infections, to provide state-of-the-art knowledge regarding the worrying phenomenon of antimicrobial resistance associated to chronic wound pathogens and the development of new strategies, advanced technology and clinical therapy, under the One-Health umbrella.
Nowadays, the increase in multidrug-resistant bacteria represents an important global emergency and for this reason the WHO encourages governments, health professionals, industry, to search new strategies to overcome this complex phenomenon that led to the failure of traditional antibiotic treatments.
In the SCIAMI International Workshop we aim to present the latest research on the possibilities of managing this problem and to provide participants with a targeted and engaging learning experience aimed at developing specific skills, improving knowledge or addressing particular challenges.
The Workshop is structured to offer interactive discussions, based on an integrated approach to research and will see the participation of researchers specialized in different topics related to chronic wounds.
This Workshop is supported by European Union-NextGenerationEU, program MUR-Promotion and Development Fund -DM737/2021.
The main topics of the Workshop are:
Topic 1: AMR and chronic wound pathogens
Topic 2: in vitro/in vivo chronic wound models
Topic 3: development of innovative strategies
We are looking forward to share thoughts and ideas for these ambitious goals here in Chieti!
