This systematic review assess site-specific bone-implant contact (BIC) for dental implants and factors that might have an influence on this, through a search of documented studies on humans.
Comparative assessments and meta-analysis show that conventionally loaded implants have higher BIC, as well as in the mandible than the maxilla and in the anterior than the posterior regions. The implant design coupled with the anatomical region affects the amount of BIC.
